Metro Footcare Associates was founded in 1996 when Dr. Tallo and Dr. Sloan became partners. Dr. High joined the practice in 1997. Since that time the practice has grown to a staff of over 20 people and has 5 locations throughout Monroe County. Dr. David High, Dr. Pearce Sloan and Dr. Michael Gruttadauria are board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in foot surgery.
Pearce Sloan, DPM, FACFAS
Dr. Sloan grew up in the Rochester, NY area. He graduated from Penfield High School in 1981. He went on to the State University of New York at Buffalo studying molecular biology. He attended the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City from 1984-1988 and graduated with honors. He won first place in the American College of Foot Surgeons scholarship exam in 1988. Dr. Sloan completed his Podiatric Surgical Residency (PSR 24) in foot surgery in 1990 from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals. During his residency he rotated through various hospitals in the New York City area concentrating at Cabrini Medical Center in Manhattan and Peninsula Hospital in Far Rockaway, learning all aspects of foot surgery.
Dr. Sloan returned to Rochester, NY in 1990 and went into private practice with his father, Dr. Irving N. Sloan in Greece, NY. Dr. Sloan earned his board certification with the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in 1992. He also later served as an oral examiner for the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Dr. Pearce Sloan was in solo practice after his father retired in 1992. In 1996, Pearce Sloan, DPM and Louis Tallo, DPM (who has since retired) founded Metro Footcare, LLP. The practice has grown over the years with the addition of a new partner David High, DPM expanding throughout Monroe County. There are currently 6 offices with 5 Podiatrists on staff.
Dr. Sloan has been actively on staff of Unity Hospital (previously Park Ridge Hospital) since 1990. He is also on staff and performs surgeries regularly at Westfall Surgical Center and Linden Oaks Surgical Center. In addition he also has surgical privileges at Rochester Ambulatory Surgery Center (formerly Lattimore Community Surgicenter) and Rochester General Hospital.
Dr. Sloan is a Fellow of the American College of Foot Surgeons (FACFAS) and a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, the New York State Podiatric Medical Association, and member of the Monroe Division of the New York Podiatric Medical Association (past president).
Dr. Sloan and Metro Footcare, LLP are committed to providing quality foot care, both surgical and non-surgical, to the greater Rochester area.
David E. High, DPM, FACFAS
David E. High, DPM, FACFAS: Dr. High was born in Burlington Vermont. He grew up in Columbus, Ohio and Kalamazoo, Michigan. He studied chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh. Next, he attended the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, now part of Temple University. In 1995 he moved to Buffalo, New York where completed his surgical residency training at Sheehan Memorial Hospital with rotations also at Erie County Medical Center and at the VA Hospital.
In 1997, Dr. High joined Metro Footcare Associates in Rochester New York. Since that time, Metro Footcare has grown to 5 locations covering all of Monroe County. Dr. High obtained his board certification from the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in 2003, and is thus a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. High sees patients at the Webster, Brighton, Downtown and Greece locations. Metro Footcare has continued to maintain an office for over 16 years at the former Genesee Hospital, located on Alexander Street. After the hospital closed, Dr. High became an active staff member at Rochester General Hospital where he performs surgery in the ambulatory surgery unit. In addition, he performs surgery regularly at Brighton Surgical Center and Westfall Surgical Center. Dr. High is on staff at Unity Hospital as well. Dr. High is a member of the Rochester Academy of Medicine, the American Podiatric Medical Association, the New York State Podiatric Medical Association, and is a member of, and past president of the Monroe Division of the New York State Podiatric Medical Association.
Michael Gruttadauria, DPM
Dr. Gruttadauria obtained his B.S. in biology from Nazareth College. He graduated from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. Next, he completed his surgical training at the Kentucky Podiatric Residency Program. He and his family then returned to Rochester, where he has been in practice since 2006, and with Metro Footcare since 2008.
Ayaz Habib, DPM
Dr. Habib completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Oklahoma. He graduated from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Habib completed his surgical training at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, New York. He joined Metro Footcare in 2013 and has been in private practice since then. Associations include; American Podiatric Medical Association, American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, New York State Podiatric Medical Association.
